Hova: Veni, Vedi, Vici

I'm doing my daily/ nightly blogrolls and I passed by one of my favorite blogs(NahRight) and came across this little Jigga video that caught my eye. So of course I had to watch it, and needless to say it was dope work! So I decided to share it with my world. If you didn't already know, Jay-Z is my FAVORITE rapper hands down. The man is a marketing mastermind if you ask me. Well, enough of that. Watch it for yourself, and fill free to let me know what you think.

Alan Yentob explores the life and work of the chart topping rapper and multi-millionaire business mogul Jay-Z.

Over the last six months, Alan has accompanied Jay-Z through key moments in his career, including the media frenzy and build-up to his triumphant headline gig at Glastonbury. Jay-Z gives an exclusive insight into his world, with backstage access to his concerts in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York, where Alan rubs shoulders with the stars and meets some of Jay-Z’s friends - including Chris Martin and P Diddy.

Jay-Z’s other passions extend beyond music, to modern art, architecture, politics, sports and fashion. He’s listed along with his partner Beyonce Knowles as one of the most powerful celebrity couples in the world. Contains very strong language.

This awesome mixtape was created by Mick Boogie x Terry Urban. It comes straight from VivaLaHova.com, which is where the tape is being released and also has Hova's thoughts and behind the scenes footage. The mixtape is a Coldplay x Jay-Z(X & Y + Jay-Z = XYZ) mash-up. The tape is dope, especially if you are a Coldplay and Jay-Z fan like myself. Click and download it! You will not be disappointed.

For those of you that got to watch the B.E.T Hip-Hop Awards last week should have seen the Cipher intermissions. If you didn't here they are. Cipher Dos(2)

Don't Let History Repeat Itself....

The man J Smooth came up with a little poem for the young voter about election day. Make sure to get off your ASS and vote on November 4 because we don't want the same thing that happened in 2000 happen in 2008. So go out and show that the young voters do turn out! And do the Damn Thing!

XXL's Top 10 Freshmen of 2009

XXL is my favorite Hip-Hop magazine on the market ever since they made their debut my freshman year in high school in 1997. Every year they have come out with the next up and coming artist to blow, but this year they did it up big with the Top 10 artist doing video freestyles daily called "The Seminar" starting with KiD CuDi and topping it off with Asher Roth. It was well done to me, I enjoyed all the freestyles and even heard new artist I had not really heard before other than their names. It's probably the best class yet that they have put together. I'll let you all decide on that for yourself's. Now watch, listen and learn fellow earthlings and tell me which one or ones are your favorites (my favs are KiD CuDi, Charles Hamilton and Mickey Factz).

This issue is due out on newstands for Jan./Feb.

Here are the 3 covers:

T R U E !

"Same Day, Same Story"

Here is the new Dwayne Wade commercial for Converse (Wade 4). As you can see, Mr. Wade uses the hate and doubt for his motivation. From the day he got drafted til the Olympics where they said he wasn't gonna do anything on that team. Well, he proved everyone WRONG! Enjoy the commercial and remember Watch n Learn!!!

"Wade's Belief Is Stronger Than Your Doubt."

Sicker Than Your Average . . .

I saw this trailer the other day and no lie it gave me goose bumps all over. Biggie's music was/is one of the best I have ever heard. Alot of today's rappers copy his flow and metaphors. But who wouldn't the man was a lyrical GENIUS. I honesty can't wait for the movie to come out on Jan. 16, 2009. Wanna know more about the movie head over to Notorious09.com for the latest.

" Stay far from timid, only make moves when your hearts in it/ And live the phrase 'Sky's the Limit'... Motherfuckrs!! "

" She jerked me off... Happy!? "

For those of you that didn't get to watch it on Sunday night here you go and enjoy.

Thank me later Wankers.... LOL!

The Ecstasy of Gold . . .

Today I decide to 'pop my cherry' in the blogger life with my 1st official blog from yours truly. As I sat here and debated what I wanted my first blog to be about, I thought to myself what do I LOVE...? Music, Art, Fashion and Sports came to mind.

With all that in thought my next step was to breakdown ideas in which way I should go. At that moment the new commercial by Nike came on my T.V and it hit my like a freight train. Boom! FOOTBALL should be my 1st entry. Why? Because football was truly my 1st LOVE and still is. As a shorty growing up in Miami and playing Pop Warner, the commercial depicted my dreams and where I wanted to go with my dreams. So I related and understood David Fincher vision with the commercial (except I didnt make it to the league). Lol.

David Fincher (who directed Alien, Se7en, and Fight Club) directs the life-long journey of pro football players LaDainian Tomlinson and Troy Polamalu as their destinies collide in an NFL football game. From the womb to high school to college and then The League. He also added the music from Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold. If it sounds familiar it is. Jay-Z used the sample on his song entititled "Blueprint 2"", on his album Blueprint 2: The Gift and The Curse.

I hope you enjoy the commercial as much as I did!
